IS LEARNING TO DIVE EXPENSIVE?

Compared with getting started in other popular adventure sports and outdoor activities learning to dive isn’t expensive.

When you invest in scuba diving lessons, you learn something you’ll enjoy the rest of your life.
Learning to dive is a great value when you consider that your PADI Instructor is a highly trained and experienced professional, which is exactly what you want.

What you need to have, and bring along to start…1. Mask snorkel and fins. (we can help you choose and buy them or rent them)
2. Swim wear and towel (swim cap for long hair)
3. Drinking waterUsage of all other equipment for the training is included in the course fee. The 4 boat dives, theory sessions and pool training sessions are also included. The PADI international license is also included in the fee.

What is NOT included in the course fee

1. Meals, drinks (If required)
2. Accommodation (If required)
3. Traveling (If required)

Please see below a description of the PADI Open Water Diver Course and its structure.

Let me explain how the PADI OW course runs ideally… (It may vary)

Enroll and sign up. You get the PADI OW Manual…, do your independent studying… and watch the DVD (It may take a day or more)

Then the course begins…

Day 1 Confined Water Sessions 1, 2, 3 (Approx 3 hours in the pool)

Briefing and Debriefing

Knowledge Development and Quizzes 1 and 2 (10 questions each MCQ)

Day 2 Confined Water Sessions 4, 5 (Approx 3 hours in the pool)

Briefing and Debriefing

Knowledge Development and Quizzes 3 and 4 (10 questions each MCQ)

Final Exam (written, 50 Questions MCQ)

Day 3 Open Water Dives 1 and 2

Briefing and Debriefing

Log Dives

Day 4 Open Water Dives 3 and 4

Briefing and Debriefing

Log Dives

Logging Dives, Final Exams can also be done on a separate day. Once all this is over we do the certification.. (That’s filing up a paper form or online form with two of your passport size Pics) can be done on day 4 or on another day.

That last bit is just paper work so we can do it anywhere (after all other stuff is completed..) some of the stuff mentioned above can be shifted here and there.. Example the final exam can be done on day one or any day prior to certification.

Day 1 and Day 2 can be combined and done in one day as well.. I ve done it many times.. ( a bit tiring and compact though) It also can take more than 2 days as well.

Day 3 and 4 has to be done on two days.. (PADI Standards and Quality Management)

The course can be extended..  That’s up to you..

Generally November to April is west coast Season and May to October is East coast (Trinco) season.

The course fee is inclusive of the following

  1. PADI OW Manual
  2. RDP Table
  3. Equipment required during the period of training.
  4. Pool training and pool fees
  5. 4 Open water dives  (within 2 days)
  6. Log book
  7. PADI OW certification valid worldwide, and valid for life.
